Job summary

Armis is hiring a Sr/Staff Software Engineer for its AI Platform. This remote US position focuses on building secure AI infrastructure, agent control planes, and reliable backend systems that scale. You’ll partner with AI researchers and engineers to move prototypes into production with strong ownership.

You’ll design, implement, and operate backend services in Python, harness AWS, and develop tools, SDK integrations, and observability to ensure robust, secure AI agent workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years backend engineering background.
• Experience building backend services and microservice architectures.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience designing APIs and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building AI applications, agents, or workflows.
• Experience with Agent SDKs.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience building developer tools, APIs, or CLI applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and production engineering.
• Ability to own projects end-to-end in startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure AI infrastructure for production AI agents.
• Develop Agent Control Plane capabilities to manage and secure agent execution.
• Build embedded controls and security into AI agents.
• Develop reusable services, APIs, and developer tooling for AI apps.
• Build and maintain integrations with Agent SDKs and MCP.
• Design backend microservices using Python and AWS.
• Incorporate observability: telemetry, monitoring, tracing, visibility.
• Develop public-facing developer tools and CLI.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to productionize prototypes.
• Own projects from architecture to deployment.
• Define engineering standards and reusable patterns across the platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Exec teams; lead initiatives.
