Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Lead AI Engineer to advance AI infrastructure, foundation models, and governance within the IFX team in McLean, VA. You will partner with engineers, researchers, and PMs to build AI-powered products that transform how customers interact with Capital One.

You will lead design, development, testing, and deployment of AI software components, optimize inference, and scale production with responsible practices across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/AI/EE/CE with 6+ years in AI/ML.
• Or Master’s degree with 4+ years in AI/ML.
• 6+ years programming in Python/Go/Scala/Java.
• Experience deploying scalable AI on cloud platforms.
• Strong communication and leadership to guide teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech (AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch).
• Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques for performance.
• Contribute to long-term vision and roadmap of AI systems.
