Job summary

PMAT Inc. is seeking a highly experienced AI/ML SME to provide senior technical leadership for AI/ML capabilities at scale in support of national defense. This role is 100% on-site in San Diego, CA.

You will lead the design, development, and deployment of ML models, manage data for AI/ML development, and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver measurable AI/ML outcomes in cloud, edge, and distributed environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive AI/ML and data science experience across data engineering, software engineering, and related technical disciplines.
• Hands-on experience designing, training, evaluating, and deploying ML models and analytics capabilities.
• Strong Python programming with software engineering practices in AI/ML.
• Experience identifying, curating, preprocessing, transforming, and managing data for AI/ML development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, and deployment of ML models and data-driven capabilities supporting mission requirements.
• Identify, curate, preprocess, and manage data for AI/ML development and production applications.
• Develop and deploy algorithms and ML solutions into production, cloud, edge, and distributed environments.
• Lead AI/ML test and evaluation activities with quantitative and qualitative performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex problems into AI/ML requirements and deployable capabilities.
