Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III within the Commercial and Investment Banking team to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable technology products. You will work on a fast‑paced agile team, applying ML and AI-assisted tooling to build robust services and APIs.

The role emphasizes Python proficiency, cloud-native skills (Docker, Kubernetes), and experience with AWS/GCP, distributed systems, and leadership to elevate team quality.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 5+ years applied experience.
• Professional software development experience, with emphasis on ML systems.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise AI‑assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Experience guiding peers on safe and effective AI usage within engineering practices.
• Experience designing and developing scalable systems and services (web services, APIs).
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP.
• Knowledge of system design fundamentals (reliability, scalability, performance).
• Experience with distributed systems and Cassandra/noSQL databases.
• Mentorship and technical leadership in setting engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
• Creates secure, high-quality production code and maintains algorithms aligned with systems.
• Uses enterprise AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity, with peer reviews and secure coding.
• Applies SDLC tooling and AI-assisted development to boost automation value.
• Produces architecture/design artifacts for complex apps and ensures design constraints are met.
• Gathers and analyzes data to create visualizations and reports for continuous improvement.
• Identifies hidden data patterns to drive improvements in code hygiene and architecture.
