Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Senior SOC Engineer (AI & Automation) in the United States to design, build, and operate AI-driven SOC capabilities. You will bridge security operations and software engineering, developing AI‑driven detection, triage and response tooling, and integrating LLM workflows into analyst operations.

You will lead major incidents as a technical leader, turning lessons into stronger detections, automations, and playbooks while mentoring teammates and driving MTTR improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years across security operations, incident response, and software engineering.
• Strong programming skills with Python and software‑engineering practices (Git, CI/CD, automated testing).
• Hands‑on AI/ML experience including LLMs, prompt engineering, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG).

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain AI/ML‑ and automation‑driven SOC capabilities.
• Integrate LLM tooling into SOC workflows and develop prompts, guardrails, and evaluation harnesses.
• Lead investigations and incident response during major incidents.
• Develop post‑incident reviews and improvements across detections, automations, and playbooks.
• Mentor analysts and drive metrics like MTTD/MTTR and SOC effectiveness.
