Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Senior AI/ML Software Engineer to integrate secure chatbot capabilities into geospatial intelligence and mission tools. You will enable analysts to discover data, navigate applications, and complete workflows using natural language, with strong emphasis on security and usability.

You will deploy in Kubernetes/OpenShift, work with REST APIs and data catalogs, and ensure compliance with data access controls and provenance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE/AI/data science.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering delivering production applications or services.
• Hands-on experience integrating generative AI or LLMs into production software using patterns like RAG, embeddings, vector search, function calling, or agent workflows.

Responsibilities

• Integrate AI chatbots and assistants into existing geospatial, analytics, visualization, and mission applications.
• Build natural-language workflows for data discovery, application navigation, visualization generation, and approved actions.
• Implement LLM patterns such as prompt orchestration and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Connect AI services to REST APIs, data catalogs, search platforms, knowledge graphs, GIS, notebooks, and dashboards.
• Develop reusable backend services and frontend components for analyst use.
• Enforce identity, entitlements, and data-access policies with citations and audit trails.
• Test AI quality, safety, latency, and usability, mitigating prompt injection and data leakage.
• Deploy and operate AI services in Kubernetes and OpenShift, including restricted environments.
