Job summary

Cinder is seeking an AI/ML engineer to architect and deploy production AI systems at scale. You will shape the ML vision, collaborating with data and software teams to build capabilities that directly impact our product and customers.

We value engineers who ship, maintain production systems, and move models from research to production. Expect involvement in infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and staying current with evolving AI tech. Relocation to NYC is supported.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of engineering experience applying LLMs and agents in industry.
• Experience building ML infrastructure at a high-growth startup.
• Ability to take models from research to production deployment at scale.
• Fluency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompts, fine-tuning.
• Strong MLOps foundation: CI/CD for ML, model versioning, monitoring, observability.
• AWS cloud architecture and automated provisioning with Terraform.
• Experience with LangChain is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of LLM implementations from data prep to production deployment.
• Build automated evaluation frameworks to measure model accuracy and improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to weave AI as a core product capability.
• Shape the AI roadmap by evaluating industry developments and pragmatic adoption decisions.
• Design low-latency, high-throughput cloud-based AI/ML systems handling thousands of requests per second.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure for model serving, deployment pipelines, and automated testing.
