Job summary

Technergetics is seeking an AI/ML Engineer III in Utica/Rome, NY area to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI capabilities with a team of full-stack developers. The role focuses on building systems around foundation models, including agentic workflows and retrieval-augmented generation for demanding clients.

Contingent upon contract award, this full-time exempt position offers a salary range of $125,000–$175,000 with location-based adjustments and potential relocation signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, AI, ML, or related field; PhD strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of multi-modal ML architectures for production use.
• Design and build agentic systems on top of large language models for operational deployment.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation pipelines grounded in authoritative data sources.
• Define and run evaluation for model and agent behavior in production.
• Optimize model inference for production and edge deployment scenarios.
• Document model limitations and support accreditation and customer reviews.
• Integrate ML libraries, foundation models, and agent frameworks into existing apps.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for ML tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into ML solutions.
• Lead, coach, and mentor junior data scientists and engineers.
• Participate in SDLC phases and agile ceremonies.
