Job summary

4A Consulting, LLC seeks a Senior AI/ML Data Platform Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of shared enterprise data products and AI-enabled services for multiple state agencies. You will oversee scalable data platforms, real-time streaming, data quality, governance, API design, and the integration of AI/ML capabilities into data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Data/Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in data engineering, ML engineering, or data platform development.
• 12+ years of computer experience in information systems design.
• Expert-level SQL and Python; production-grade data systems.
• Cloud data platforms on AWS/Azure/GCP with capabilites like Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery, Dataflow, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Production streaming experience (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Spark).
• Strong data modeling skills: data vault, lakehouse, data mesh.
• Hands-on data quality, catalogs, lineage, APIs, contracts, event-driven architectures.
• Experience integrating ML models into data pipelines or AI-powered data services.

Responsibilities

• Define data product standards, lifecycle ownership, quality tiers and roadmaps.
• Architect batch and streaming pipelines for low-latency ML features.
• Implement data quality, lineage, masking, and auditing with governance teams.
• Design AI-powered data services including entity matching, classification and semantic search.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and represent the platform in reviews.
• Maintain ADRs, runbooks, and optimize scalability and cost.
