Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Capacity Engineer to join the AV Capacity and Performance Engineering team. You will develop models for capacity planning, build analytics tools, and collaborate with AI/ML engineering, infrastructure, and cloud teams to optimize engineering efficiency and cost.

The role is hybrid, based in Sunnyvale, CA, with potential remote work from Seattle until the office opens. Strong Python, BI, and BigQuery skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or related field.
• Proficient in coding with Python (our preferred language).
• Proficient in BI platforms.
• Experience with data modeling and working with SQL on large datasets such as BigQuery.
• Good understanding of distributed systems including modern ML system architecture and design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine technical models for capacity planning for GM’s AV infrastructure.
• Design and build automated analytical tools for monitoring capacity and demand signals.
• Partner with AI/ML engineering, infrastructure engineering, and cloud vendors to proactively identify and drive optimization projects to increase engineering and cost efficiencies.
