Job summary

Oxy, based in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced AI Language Model Engineer to join the AI Center of Excellence. You will drive end-to-end development of language-based use cases with direct client engagement.

You will work in a collaborative codebase, performing back-end work on AWS and Terraform, with front-end skills used as needed to deliver end-to-end solutions. Responsibilities include designing deployment workflows for LLMs, performing prompt engineering, tuning multi-agent systems, and

Qualifications

PhD in Engineering, CS, DS, AI, or related field.
Strong Python proficiency with version control.
Deep knowledge of LLMs and NLP with demonstrable work.
Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Transformers, and vector databases.
Experience with RAG, multi-agentic systems, and agentic frameworks.
Cloud experience with AWS (EC2, S3, SageMaker, Bedrock).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Frontend basics (React) a plus.
End-to-end full-stack development from data to APIs.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL and orchestration tools like Step Functions.

Responsibilities

End-to-end design, research, development, and deployment of language engineering use cases, with continuous client engagement and collaboration.
Hands-on development in a shared codebase with the team. Back-end engineering with AWS, Terraform, etc. Working front-end proficiency when needed.
Design workflows for language model deployment. Perform prompt engineering, pre-processing, and post-processing to optimize output suitability.
Fine-tune and optimize multi-agentic systems to satisfy use case requirements.
Work with domain experts to assess model quality.
