Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for AI Infrastructure (STARSHIELD) in Hawthorne, CA.

You will design, deploy, and scale GPU/CPU infrastructure, building automation for on-prem Kubernetes clusters, and delivering high-availability systems that support national security data needs. You will mentor junior engineers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate with AI teams to productize scalable software for critical missions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Linux experience.
• 5+ years of Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar infrastructure tools.
• Scripting in Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Manage GPU/CPU infrastructure deployments to Top Secret data centers.
• Provide GPU as a service for external customers on bare metal and virtualized platforms.
• Design and productize AI cluster solutions (100k+ GPU scale).
• Develop automation to deploy and manage on-prem Kubernetes/AI clusters.
• Deploy and manage core infra such as databases, monitoring, storage.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to build scalable, operable products.
• Lifecycle management from design to deployment and refinement.
• Maintain high availability with monitoring and alerting.
