Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Compute team seeks a senior engineer to design, build, and scale the next generation of bare-metal provisioning systems powering millions of servers worldwide. You will develop highly reliable and secure infrastructure and tackle distributed systems challenges to enable OCI’s most performant compute services.

You will own software design for major components, dive deep across the stack—from Linux and Docker to Java services and Terraform—and collaborate in an agile

Qualifications

• 5–8 years delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of OOP with C++ or Java and Python scripting.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OS, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP and network architectures.
• Experience with databases, storage and distributed persistence.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure.
• Be a rock-solid developer, driven problem solver and a distributed systems generalist and/or Linux developer with systems experience.
• Dive deep into design, develop, operate, and debug any part of the stack, including low-level systems such as Linux, Docker, Java web services, and Terraform.
• Independently seek out problems to solve and take action to deliver results wherever needed.
• Value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
