Job summary

Oracle in Nashville, Tennessee, seeks a Principal Member of Technical Staff to own design and development for major OCI components. You’ll lead distributed systems, work with Linux, Docker, Java services, and Terraform, and collaborate across Compute, Networking, and Hardware teams to scale our cloud infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 6–10+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems, strong C++/Java and Python skills, and a deep pattern of performance tuning and

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems with Linux development and systems debugging.
• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented programming with C++ or Java, and scripting with Python.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, OS, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
• Knowledge of databases, NoSQL, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the software design and development for major Oracle Cloud Infrastructure components.
• Lead collaboration across Compute, Networking, Security, Data Center Engineering, and Hardware Development.
• Design, develop, operate, and debug stack components including Linux, Docker, Java web services, and Terraform.
