Job summary

KX is seeking a principal-level architect for its Forward Deployed Engineering team in New York. You will assess customer environments, design AI-enabled data and analytics platforms, and lead the journey from concept to first production outcomes.

You will defend architecture and drive reusable accelerators across engagements. This hybrid role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, real-time processing, and capital-markets front-office platforms, with a strong background in Python,

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of distributed systems and real-time processing.
• Strong Python and cloud architecture skills.
• Working knowledge of AI and agent-system architecture.
• Credibility with CTOs and senior engineers in enterprise environments.
• Capital-markets experience building front-office systems in production.
• Proven track record delivering production AI or high-performance computing systems.
• Experience with GPU or accelerated-compute technologies.
• Familiarity with time-series data stores like OneTick/ClickHouse/InfluxDB.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer environments and design AI-enabled, high-performance data systems.
• Identify accelerated-compute opportunities and quantify gains.
• Evaluate AI use cases: feasibility, architecture, cost, operability.
• Design an integrated architecture spanning KX tech and customer data.
• Map the data estate with data owners and domain experts.
• Define engagement hypotheses and evaluation frameworks.
• Lead through to production with senior technical leadership.
• Build reusable diagnostics, references, and accelerators.
