Job summary

Adyen seeks a Senior AI Governance Counsel to join the Global DPO Office and build, roll out, and operate enterprise AI governance in a scalable, enterprise-wide program. You will translate EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA into pragmatic policies and collaborate with risk, security, product, compliance, legal, and engineering to implement them.

This builder role emphasizes generative/agentic AI use cases, risk-tiered processes, and training to enable fast-moving teams to adopt responsible AI

Qualifications

• 7+ years in governance or privacy programs.
• Qualified lawyer or governance professional with AI/privacy experience.
• Regulated industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and embed enterprise AI governance framework, policies, and standards.
• Design AI risk and impact assessments across the lifecycle with focus on generative/agentic AI.
• Translate EU AI Act, NIST RMF, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA into practical policies and playbooks.
• Define governance parameters for AI tools inventories and risk classification.
• Develop guidance for evaluating AI systems on performance, fairness, and explainability.
• Create simple risk-tiered processes that encourage compliant, efficient AI use.
• Collaborate with Risk, Security, Product, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering.
• Advise on privacy across AI lifecycle and coordinate with DPO Office.
• Develop AI governance training and promote AI literacy.
• Monitor global AI/privacy developments and respond to audits and inquiries.
