Job summary

Premera is seeking a Software Development Engineer IV to lead enterprise AI initiatives from a home-based position. You will design and implement AI/GenAI solutions using Azure AI services, align them with regulatory requirements, and drive architecture decisions across teams.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration, and the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions with strong governance and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience with strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Wiki).
• Experience with Azure AI/OpenAI, including RAG patterns and prompt engineering.
• Strong observability and operational excellence mindset.
• Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI/GenAI solutions using Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, and agent-based frameworks.
• Lead feature development and provide technical direction throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and business partners to gather requirements and drive outcomes.
• Embed security, governance, compliance, and regulatory controls into AI/DevOps solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices across the organization.
