Docker, Inc. is seeking an experienced backend engineer to drive the technical direction of core AI gateway systems. You will contribute to the model router, MCP gateway, and control plane, influencing architecture at scale across teams.

You will own high-ambiguity problems, design secure, high-throughput services, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product and leadership to shape future direction. This remote-first role offers strong compensation and equity.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with production-grade systems at scale.
• Deep specialization in distributed systems, cloud-native infra, and API design.
• Experience building secure, high-throughput services (gateways, proxies, load balancers, policy engines).
• Fluency in Go and/or Rust.
• Track record of identifying systemic gaps and driving fixes across teams.
• Strong product mindset shaping technical direction, not just execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsabilidades

• Set technical direction for core systems powering the AI Gateway and ensure architecture scales.
• Identify gaps in infrastructure, processes, or tooling and drive fixes to production.
• Play a hands-on role in delivering the Gateway's technical strategy with leadership.
• Own hard, ambiguous problems like dynamic model selection, auto-failover, and cost-based routing.
• Be the go-to expert for secure credential storage, session summarization, caching, and rate limiting.
