Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Applied Researcher 4 in Cambridge, MA to join the AI Foundations team. You will partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop AI-powered banking experiences at scale.

You will build foundation models, run end-to-end experiments, and translate research into real-world applications, collaborating with senior researchers and contributing to internal reports and conferences. This role is rooted in ambitious, responsible AI work.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with practical research experience in AI/ML fields.
• Strong background in deep learning foundations and ML experimentation.
• Experience with large-scale model training and evaluation.
• Familiarity with open-source ML tools and libraries.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Build and evaluate AI foundation models through design, training, and validation.
• Publish internal reports or conference submissions for novel methods.
