Job summary

NTT DATA Services is seeking an AI Foundation Model Engineer to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. The role focuses on designing, building, deploying, and optimizing enterprise-grade AI systems powered by foundation models and LLMs on AIRP, our AWS-hosted platform.

You will own end-to-end LLMOps/MLOps lifecycles, collaborate with cloud engineering teams, and advance secure, observable, and scalable AI services across business use cases.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and GenAI patterns.
• Strong Python engineering skills with major ML frameworks.
• Experience deploying production AI services using cloud-native tech.
• Exposure to AWS AI/cloud services and AIRP patterns.
• Knowledge of Terraform/IaC and DevOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement LLM-powered applications like knowledge assistants and document intelligence.
• Build RAG pipelines with embeddings, vector DBs, and semantic retrieval.
• Integrate AI capabilities with AWS-hosted platform components and APIs.
• Collaborate on Terraform modules, IaC templates, and CI/CD processes.
• Adapt and optimize models using LoRA, PEFT, and domain adaptation techniques.
• Optimize inference for latency, throughput, cost, and UX.
• Implement observability, including prompts, drift signals, and cost telemetry.
• Embed security and Responsible AI controls into design and delivery.
• Create production docs, runbooks, and audit-ready records.
