Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead AI-first, cloud-native modernization across insurance tech platforms. You will translate business strategy into concrete roadmaps, drive architectural governance, and partner with VP-level stakeholders to align roadmaps with strategic goals.

Responsibilities include defining domain architectures, creating RAG-enabled workflows, and guiding teams through complex API and data-model decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related STEM field or equivalent.
• 8 years architecture experience with progressive responsibility.
• 6 additional years in architecture/software engineering.
• Experience designing cloud-native apps on AWS/Azure/GCP; AWS preferred.
• Knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, API design, data modeling.
• Familiarity with AI/ML services, LLM-based capabilities, agentic patterns.
• Understanding non-deterministic AI components, testing, fallback design, cost.
• Experience with prompt chaining, tool patterns, RAG, or workflows.
• Hands-on with agentic frameworks/tools: LangChain, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, Azure Foundry/Agent.
• Familiarity with latency, token cost, non-determinism, graceful degradation.
• Experience in agile environments and transformational change.
• Strong insurance industry knowledge preferred.
• Understanding of value creation and business capability models.
• Strong problem-solving, judgment, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with teammates.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture within domains for platform modernization.
• Translate strategy into architecture roadmaps.
• Identify opportunities/risks; present to engineering leadership.
• Drive AI-first architectural approach and AI-enabled workflows.
• Design conceptual/logical/solution architectures, APIs, data flows.
• Author Architecture Decision Records with rationale.
• Evaluate patterns: event-driven, CQRS, request/response.
• Prototype PoCs using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Present options, pros/cons, risks to teams and stakeholders.
• Provide hands-on guidance and unblock implementation challenges.
• Prepare architecture overviews and roadmap updates for leadership.
• Present reviews and modernization progress to VP-level.
• Explain AI capabilities/limitations to non-technical stakeholders.
• Influence direction and build consensus for standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
