Job summary

CFA Institute is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to design, build, and deliver production-grade AI and ML solutions. You will collaborate with Product, Data, Security, and business teams to translate needs into scalable, secure, and responsible AI capabilities.

This senior role reports to the Senior Director, AI Engineering and may be based in eligible US jurisdictions. You will lead architecture, set standards, and mentor engineers while ensuring high-quality AI delivery across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, data science, AI, engineering, or related field; master's preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive software, data, or AI engineering experience delivering production-grade AI/ML in an enterprise.
• Advanced expertise in AI/ML engineering, development, and SDLC including testing, versioning, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and delivery of production-grade AI/ML capabilities, integrating models and data pipelines.
• Serve as a technical SME to resolve design, performance, and reliability issues.
• Deliver medium-sized AI projects or larger low-complexity projects, managing scope, schedule, risk, and quality; budget where assigned.
• Balance multiple priorities across projects and escalate high-complexity matters to leadership.
• Apply MLOps, CI/CD for models, testing, observability, and secure development; influence team standards.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentoring to less-experienced engineers.
