Job summary

Amplitude is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to advance its AI products and the foundations they’re built on. You will move between deep technical work and product judgment, shipping AI capabilities that customers and internal teams rely on.

This role is hands-on and visionary, contributing to customer-facing AI products, platform infrastructure, and internal tooling for an AI-native company. Based in the SF Bay Area, with competitive pay and equity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years building production LLM or applied AI systems.
• Experience designing and scaling AI products, platforms, or developer tools with real users and reliability constraints.
• Deep familiarity with model APIs, agent frameworks, evals, retrieval, prompting, tool use.

Responsibilities

• Ship high-impact AI features and products across the Amplitude platform.
• Design and build foundational AI infrastructure: orchestration, evaluation, retrieval, context management.
• Identify leverage opportunities by understanding user workflows and AI capabilities.
• Establish reusable patterns and components for other engineers.
• Drive adoption through collaboration with product, design, and customer-facing teams.
• Set technical direction for AI systems and influence long-term roadmap.
