Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Distinguished AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to help design and deploy responsible AI systems. You will partner with engineers, scientists, and PMs to build AI-powered banking products and optimize large-scale model inference, training, and governance.

You will apply state-of-the-art techniques on AWS, HuggingFace, and VectorDBs, lead architectural decisions, and mentor multiple teams to deliver measurable impact across the business.

Qualifications

• Broad experience building AI/ML systems and production code.
• Strong programming experience in Python/Go/Scala/Java.
• Deep knowledge of AI model deployment and governance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including training and inference.
• Leverage a stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies and optimize performance and cost.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of AI systems at Capital One.
• Mentor teams and influence stakeholders up to VP level.
