Job summary

NVIDIA is building software infrastructure for AI-driven materials discovery. This senior application engineer will help shape NVIDIA ALCHEMI by turning research into production-ready tools used by scientists and engineers.

Based in California, you’ll collaborate across research, engineering and product teams to accelerate simulations, optimize performance, and enable AI surrogates in real workflows.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in computational physics, chemistry, CS.
• 8+ years of experience or demonstrable expertise in high performance numerical methods.
• Experience running material science simulations on large HPC systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a globally distributed team.
• Proficiency in Fortran, C++, CUDA, Python and common materials science tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with computational chemistry and AI teams to develop tools in NVIDIA ALCHEMI.
• Guide customers or developers on integrating material science apps with AI surrogates.
• Profile applications and run benchmarks to demonstrate value.
• Collaborate with SMEs on whitepapers and research.
• Engage in workshops at the intersection of material science and AI.
