Job summary

Capital One is building responsible AI systems and scalable AI infrastructure to transform banking. This role focuses on designing and deploying AI components, optimizing LLMs, and advancing foundational AI platforms, partnering with engineers, researchers, managers, and product teams.

You will work with a broad stack including AWS, HuggingFace, and PyTorch, contributing to production-grade AI systems with governance and observability built in.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with at least 6 years of AI/ML experience, or a Master's with at least 4 years.
• At least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch).
• Invent and apply state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques for performance, cost, latency, throughput.
• Contribute to the long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
