Job summary

Aptima seeks a Senior AI Engineer – Human–AI Systems to lead design and execution of AI-enabled systems that fuse human cognition, team dynamics, and machine intelligence for Department of War applications.

You will coordinate AI engineers and researchers, translate mission needs into system requirements and evaluation plans, and contribute to proposals and customer engagements while advancing human-centered AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Strong background in human–AI interaction and behavioral science.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of human–AI teaming concepts and system behaviors for DoW applications.
• Coordinate work across AI engineers and researchers; translate mission needs into system requirements and evaluation plans.
• Design and execute human-subject experiments and quantitative studies to evaluate trust, workload, and team performance.
• Present technical work in proposals, customer engagements, and at conferences.
