Job summary

Tala Health is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead from ideation to production-grade AI systems used by clinicians. You will design fast, secure, and cost-efficient AI pipelines, leveraging modern ML models and orchestration tools.

Collaboration with product and design ensures AI features address real clinical workflows and regulatory requirements. You will own end-to-end AI features, from prototyping to deployment, with emphasis on speed, security, and auditing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering, including 2+ years building AI systems
• Fluency in Python or TypeScript
• Experience designing and scaling ML-powered systems in regulated/high-stakes environments
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Comfort with Docker, Kubernetes, and serving infra (Triton, TorchServe, FastAPI)
• Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, Kubeflow, Airflow)
• Familiarity with data anonymization, access control, and encryption standards
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks like HIPAA (US)

Responsibilities

• Ship AI agents end-to-end to ease clinical workflows by integrating or designing new pipelines
• Continuously improve product performance through experiments and analytics
• Translate research into scalable systems with model selection and cost optimization
• Prototype and launch first-of-their-kind AI features including fine-tuned LLM workflows
• Co-author the roadmap by partnering with product and design while owning the AI stack
