Job summary

RLI Insurance Company in Tempe, AZ is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, and deploy enterprise AI applications. You will work with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and cloud-native architectures to automate business processes and enable knowledge discovery.

Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders, implement secure APIs, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD pipelines, and mentor peers to raise software quality and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience building cloud-native applications, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience developing AI-enabled applications using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and prompt engineering techniques.
• Experience designing vector databases, vector search, embeddings, and semantic retrieval.
• Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise AI applications using modern software practices.
• Build intelligent solutions with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and workflow orchestration.
• Develop scalable backend services, REST APIs, and cloud-native apps that integrate AI with enterprise systems.
• Design integrations using APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
• Develop document processing, OCR, and knowledge extraction using AI technologies.
• Implement vector search, semantic retrieval, and knowledge base solutions.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize apps in Kubernetes environments.
• Collaborate with business partners to translate needs into AI-enabled solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and solution design.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automated deployment best practices.
• Mentor team members and promote high software quality, security, and observability.
