Job summary

Teradata is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to contribute to internal engineering AI initiatives, designing agent-based AI solutions and scalable, marketplace-ready features. You will work with platform, product, and engineering teams to shape the future of developer-facing AI capabilities.

The role emphasizes building robust services, RESTful APIs, and data models with SQL/NoSQL, applying AI/ML tools, and mentoring peers in design and implementation within a fast-paced, cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• 5+ years of experience in backend services, distributed systems, or data platform development.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, or Python for service development.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modelling.
• Experience with Kubernetes and public cloud platforms.
• Experience with AI productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high quality systems with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineers and product partners to shape design and deliver end-to-end features.
• Build and integrate robust RESTful APIs, ensuring security, data consistency, and maintainability.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to implement data models and service access patterns.
• Apply AI/ML technologies, including agentic AI and LLMs.
• Mentor engineers, supporting them in technical planning, implementation, and best practices.
• Identify and resolve system performance bottlenecks, optimizing code, design, and infrastructure.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate production issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
• Stay current with emerging trends in engineering, AI/ML, and cloud-native technologies.
