Job summary

Lumin Digital is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for AI to design, build, and ship AI-powered features on our digital banking platform. You will collaborate with product, security, and data teams to integrate LLMs and AI capabilities into core products and developer tooling.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering, 1–2+ years in AI/ML integration, and strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, with experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS) and API design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 5 years equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 1-2+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML integration or LLM-based product development.
• Proficiency with LLM APIs such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI, including prompt engineering and tool/function calling.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs — knowing when to trust, verify, and push back.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI-powered features across Lumin's digital banking platform.
• Integrate LLMs and AI APIs into production systems with robust prompt engineering, output validation, and safety guardrails.
• Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with product, QE, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end AI features.
• Contribute to internal AI knowledge base with patterns and best practices.
• Champion security and fintech compliance in AI feature development.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews to raise technical standards.
• Evaluate new AI tools and frameworks to keep Lumin at the AI frontier.
