Job summary

Homeward is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Applied AI to design and deliver AI-powered features across our products used by agents, customers, and operations. You will help build robust AI tooling and contribute to end-to-end ML pipelines, ensuring reliability and scalability.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to ship practical AI solutions, evaluate new models, and advance our AI strategy in a fast-moving, remote-first real estate startup based in Austin.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Production experience with AI/ML systems in production.
• Experience with LLM APIs, including prompt design and context management.
• Strong Python experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Solid REST APIs, asynchronous tasks, and data management practices.

Responsibilities

• Have an immediate impact on how Homeward builds with AI.
• Design, build, and maintain AI-powered features across products.
• Build and improve shared tooling and components for LLM access in production.
• Maintain observability, monitoring, and evaluation for AI features.
