Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Senior AI Engineer to shape and build AI-first cloud-native applications within the AI Venture Studio. You will design APIs, MCPs, and agent runtimes for scalable, secure, and observable AI solutions that transform patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, collaboration across AI, data, and UI/UX teams, and delivering MVPs in agile sprints while ensuring reliability, security, and enterprise alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years designing, building, and scaling software apps, cloud platforms, or distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI or TypeScript/Node.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver backend services and components integrating LLM APIs, AI agents, retrieval systems, workflows, and enterprise systems.
• Develop MCP-accessible services with governed read/write/search to structured knowledge assets.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization including enterprise SSO and secrets management.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define API contracts and robust, observable APIs.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews and reusable reference implementations.
