Job summary

Bot Auto in Houston is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI to architect, build, ship, and operate production-grade agentic systems across Bot Auto. You will own the system end to end across backend services, full-stack applications, databases, and infrastructure, leveraging modern AI/LLM engineering.

This role requires 6+ years of software engineering and deep experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and tool orchestration frameworks.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience architecting, building, shipping, and operating production-grade AI agentic applications.
• Strong backend and full-stack capabilities across services and databases.
• Understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and transactions.
• Cloud, containers, CI/CD, observability, and security in production.
• Deep knowledge of LLM/agent systems including tool calling and memory.
• Experience solving production issues like nondeterministic failures and latency.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and end-to-end implementation of production agentic workflows.
• Design boundaries between deterministic software, workflow engines, and probabilistic reasoning.
• Build and review backend services, APIs, full-stack apps, and operator tools.
• Design agent orchestration, tool contracts, state, memory, and retries.
• Design production data architecture, schemas, caching, and event systems.
• Integrate AI with enterprise tools while preserving permissions and auditability.
• Collaborate with infra on cloud, containers, CI/CD, observability, security, and cost.
• Establish reusable engineering patterns and reference implementations.
