Job summary

The Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Ai2) is hiring a Senior Engineer in Seattle to build AI-powered products that advance scientific discovery. You will own end-to-end surfaces, design interactions for long-running agents, and collaborate with UX, AI/ML teams and researchers.

You will ship user-facing products, contribute to agent architecture, and own the full software lifecycle with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of technical experience or equivalent.
• Professional web development with JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Strong Python engineering skills.
• Proficiency with React and front-end frameworks.
• Track record shipping user-facing products and good interaction design.
• Experience building and operating agentic AI products in production.
• Knowledge of integrating AI into apps, including prompts, memory, and tool integrations.
• Strong communication and ownership for results.

Responsibilities

• Develop rich UI experiences using React and robust Python services.
• Contribute to agent architecture and how tools fit together.
• Own full SDLC from ideation to deployment and support.
• Communicate with engineering, product, and research to align priorities.
• Mentor less-senior engineers on technical and non-technical skills.
