Job summary

Talent Home is seeking a Senior AI Engineer in San Francisco to own the end‑to‑end development of agentic AI financial tools. You will join early on, delivering real‑world AI assistants that customers use for loans, payments, and financial services.

You have 5–8+ years in software engineering, deep experience with LLMs, agentic AI, and modern web tech (React, APIs, backend). Base salary is 180K–270K with strong equity and full benefits.

We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer with 5-8+ years of experience to help build the next generation of financial products.

We’re partnering with a $100M+ neobank startup with real traction that is building the future of financial services. As one of the first AI engineers on the team, you’ll build agentic AI products from the ground up, take them from idea to production, and help shape the technology, product and engineering culture as the AI team grows.

Who we’re looking for

This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who has already built AI agents in production and has strong pre‑AI backend/software engineering fundamentals.

You’ll ideally have:

• 4-8+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience in fintech payments, including payouts, ledgers, or cross‑border transactions
• Daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools
• Experience working in a high‑growth startup environment
• Strong backend and full‑stack engineering experience
• Hands‑on experience with LLMs, agentic AI, and tool use
• Experience building RAG harnesses, pipelines, or evaluation systems
• Strong TypeScript and full‑stack web development skills
• Experience with modern web frameworks such as React, APIs, and backend systems
• Experience taking software from idea to production

What you’ll do

• Build and ship an agentic AI financial assistant helping customers apply for loans, manage payments, and navigate financial products in real time.
• Own AI agents end‑to‑end, from ideation and architecture to UX, evaluations, monitoring, and safeguards.
• Design RAG pipelines and agentic workflows to automate complex, multi‑step financial processes.
• Build systems that coordinate real‑world financial workflows, such as helping customers apply to multiple lenders simultaneously while shopping in‑store.
• Build and improve RAG harnesses and evaluation pipelines to measure and optimize AI systems.
• Work across the full stack to deliver high‑impact features for consumer and merchant‑facing products.
• Help define agentic software development practices, architecture, and engineering culture as an early member of the AI team.
