Job summary

Qualifications

A Financial Services client is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their team! This individual will provide technical leadership across enterprise AI initiatives while remaining hands‑on in the design, development, and deployment of AI agents, copilots, RAG solutions, and LLM‑powered applications. The Senior AI Engineer will partner closely with business leaders across lending, loan operations, payments, marketing, HR, fraud, and other business units to identify opportunities for automation and deliver scalable AI solutions. Responsibilities include defining solution architecture, guiding technical direction, establishing AI engineering best practices, mentoring team members, evaluating emerging AI technologies, and driving projects from concept through enterprise production deployment. This individual will play a key role in shaping the organization's long‑term AI strategy while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. This is a full‑time permanent opportunity offering a base salary of $175,000-$275,000 plus bonus and potential equity. The position can sit in Pasadena, CA, Palo Alto, CA, Dallas, TX, or New York, NY and requires a hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite per week.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of AI/ML Engineering experience, including recent experience building and deploying Generative AI solutions in production environments
• Proven experience leading and delivering enterprise AI initiatives from requirements gathering through architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing optimization
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying AI agents and LLM‑powered applications end‑to‑end
• Experience with enterprise LLM platforms such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI GPT, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, or similar technologies
• Strong experience with:

• Experience designing AI orchestration workflows using tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, document repositories, and business applications
• Experience building and scaling AI solutions within cloud environments, preferably Azure (Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Databricks, Azure AI Search), though AWS experience (Bedrock, SageMaker, AI/ML Services) is also highly valued
• Experience deploying AI applications with proper monitoring, governance, security, and compliance controls
• Strong Python development skills
• Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech experience supporting areas such as lending, payments, fraud, risk, loan operations, customer service, or operational efficiency initiatives
• Experience establishing AI engineering best practices, architecture standards, and implementation frameworks
• Experience mentoring engineers and serving as a technical lead on complex AI initiatives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions to both business stakeholders and executive leadership
• Experience developing enterprise copilots, digital assistants, knowledge‑management solutions, or employee productivity platforms
• Experience supporting customer analytics, risk analytics, fraud analytics, operational intelligence, or decisioning platforms
• Experience operating within regulated environments, including knowledge of AI governance, model risk management, vendor partnerships, privacy requirements, and compliance‑focused technology delivery
• Experience defining AI strategy, roadmap development, and technology selection decisions
• Experience leading architecture reviews and cross‑functional technical initiatives
• Previous people leadership or technical lead experience
• Experience evaluating emerging AI technologies and recommending adoption strategies
