Job summary

Senior AI Engineer | NYC | $200k - $280k

I'm working with a well funded, early stage AI company building agents that handle complex, multi step professional workflows.

They're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help build the core systems behind it.

This is not another chatbot or thin LLM wrapper.

You'll be building:

• Agentic systems that reason, use tools and execute multi-step workflows
• Evaluation infrastructure that tells you when AI is getting better or quietly getting worse
• Orchestration systems for long running jobs, retries, dependencies and failure recovery
• Production infrastructure making AI observable, reliable and fast

The problems are genuinely hard.

• How do you make an unreliable model behave like reliable software?
• How do you know when an agent is wrong?
• How do you build systems that can recover when things inevitably fail?

You'll have significant ownership and work directly with the people defining the product.

Ideally, you've already worked in a startup or high growth environment and enjoy operating

without much process or hand-holding.

Strong backend engineering fundamentals matter. Deep experience with LLMs, agents, evals or

distributed systems is highly relevant.
