Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a design-focused AI systems engineer to design and deploy applied AI solutions connecting LLMs, backend services, and cloud platforms in a hybrid Chicago setup.

You will drive agentic system development, LLM integrations, and workflow automation while collaborating with product and business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI-powered outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background building scalable backend systems.
• Ability to reason through business problems end-to-end and deliver solutions that users adopt.
• Experience identifying high-value AI opportunities and determining where AI will have the biggest impact.
• Demonstrated ability to stay current on latest models, architecture, frameworks, and techniques and guide the team on which approaches to adopt.
• Strong understanding of how to choose the appropriate AI approach for a given problem (without defaulting to familiar tools).
• Experience collaborating with product and business stakeholders to translate customer needs into effective AI solutions.

Design and deploy applied AI systems that connect LLMs, backend services, and cloud platforms to real business use cases in a hybrid Chicago setup.

Responsibilities

• 40% Agentic system development
• 30% LLM integration
• 20% Workflow automation and internal tools
• 70% Hands-on building and implementation
• 10% Management duties
• 20% Team collaboration

Requirements
