Job summary

Cisco is seeking a senior engineering leader to shape the vision for intelligent enterprise applications. You will design and implement next-generation software that embeds autonomous capabilities into business workflows, using contract-first APIs and modern ecosystems to connect UI, logic, and backends.

The role focuses on the application layer, requiring deep experience with LLM-backed systems, API schemas, and distributed cloud architectures across AWS, GCP, and private clouds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Bachelor’s +12 years of experience in back-end software architecture and core software development using Python, Node, Go, or Java.
• Experience building and shipping complex enterprise or SaaS applications
• Production experience with LLM-backed applications: agent orchestration LangGraph, a state-machine runtime you wrote yourself, structured tool calling, and the failure handling that has to sit underneath both.
• Experience with a contract-first API design and schema modeling (OpenAPI, TypeSpec, GraphQL, gRPC).

Responsibilities

• Design and lead hands-on implementation of intelligent enterprise applications.
• Innovate with contract-first architectures linking UI, business logic, and backend systems to reasoning models via MCP and modern APIs.
