Job summary

Zoom seeks a senior security researcher blending offensive security with applied AI to surface critical risks before they become incidents. You will craft hypotheses, validate exploitability, and trace attack paths across Zoom's products, apps, services, and infrastructure with high autonomy.

You will collaborate with Security Assurance to shape research directions, develop tooling, and translate findings into actionable remediation, balancing deep hands-on craft with rigorous verification.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on vulnerability research, offensive security, application security, or penetration testing.
  • Experience running offensive workflows with frontier/open-weight models.
  • Ability to assess AI-driven research processes, reproducibility, and attack surface awareness.
  • Deep technical expertise in security domains such as web apps, APIs, cloud, OS, or reverse engineering.
  • Strong programming and debugging skills for building research tooling and proofs of concept.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage AI to conduct vulnerability research across Zoom's products, services, and infrastructure focusing on high-impact issues.
  • Use architecture knowledge, source code, and observed behavior to guide investigations.
  • Apply AI capabilities across the research lifecycle: reconnaissance, code analysis, hypothesis generation, exploit development, verification.
  • Design and tune research harnesses to give models the right context, tools, and environments.
  • Develop custom tooling and exploits to answer research questions when needed.
  • Convert model output into defensible security evidence by reproducing findings and ruling out false claims.
  • Improve AI-driven research reliability by addressing false positives/negatives and nondeterminism.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Security to communicate findings and verify fixes.
  • Share tools and lessons learned to improve security processes with AI.
