Job summary

ECS is seeking a Senior Application Modernization & Migration Architect to lead enterprise modernization, including legacy COBOL, PL/I, CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM, and JCL migration to modern cloud-ready platforms. The role blends leadership with hands-on guidance across architecture, data, and integration in a remote capacity.

The candidate will drive AI-enabled analysis, code transformation, testing, and migration planning while mentoring teams and aligning with governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of enterprise application development or engineering experience.
• 7+ years with COBOL and mainframe technologies.
• 5+ years leading large-scale modernization or cloud migration programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Assess legacy portfolios and define target architectures.
• Leverage AI and automation to accelerate migration activities.
• Design cloud-native and on-prem solutions using microservices and containers.
• Build and implement automated CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Modernize data integration while ensuring business continuity.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership.
