Escape Velocity Entertainment Inc is seeking a Senior AI Designer to join our fully remote, world-building team. You will craft enemies, design specs, and drive NPC behavior using AI trees in Unreal or AAA engines, collaborating with designers and engineers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in game design or AI development, strong communication, and a deep understanding of competitive multiplayer NPCs. This role offers autonomy, world-building scope, and a culture of play across regions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional game design or AI game development experience.
• Technical proficiency in Unreal and/or AAA game engines.
• Senior-level proficiency in blueprint scripting and AI behaviour trees.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Professional understanding of competitive multiplayer games and NPCs.
• Background or education in game design or programming.

Responsibilities

• Create exciting new enemies for a unique, high-mobility action game.
• Create design specs and technical documents.
• Work with designers and engineers on NPC creation, scripting, and behaviour trees.
• Collaborate with producers to plan future work and identify dependencies.
• Analyze user data, feedback, and heatmaps to understand AI effectiveness and identify changes.
• Pitch detailed new AI designs to leads and directors.
