Job summary

Amazon's Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) embeds directly inside strategic customer teams to design, build, deploy, and run AI-powered production systems.

FDEs own outcomes end-to-end, from prototype through enterprise deployment, creating reusable architectures, patterns, and mechanisms that scale customer impact. The role includes mentoring engineers and accelerating customer transformation across workflows in AWS.

Qualifications

• Experience building production AI applications and systems.
• Ability to translate business problems into scalable AI-enabled solutions.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% and collaborate with customer teams.

Responsibilities

• Embed within customer engineering teams to understand processes and translate problems into scalable AI systems.
• Design and develop production-grade software powering AI workflows and agentic applications.
• Own production from design to rollout, including monitoring, reliability, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and push best practices for AI deployment across AWS teams.
• Identify opportunities to scale AI adoption across customer workflows and codify reusable patterns.
