Job summary

Optum is seeking a Principal AI Data Engineer to design and build end-to-end AI pipelines for large-scale unstructured data, enabling advanced analytics and GenAI capabilities. You will transform OCR-rich data into AI-ready formats, build LLM-powered systems, and scale them in production.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms (batch + streaming).
• Develop ingestion for unstructured data (OCR, documents, images).
• Enable and support ML/AI workflows including feature engineering and deployment.
• Drive Generative AI initiatives (RAG, semantic search) and data governance.
