Job summary

Pattern is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Pattern Labs, Pattern's AI R&D team, to own end-to-end AI-enabled software development. You will work with product managers, designers, and engineers across time zones to design, build, and ship scalable AI-powered features in a fast-moving environment.

You will mentor teammates, drive AWS architecture, and champion integration of AI into core ecommerce processes, delivering impact on global marketplaces and customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production full-stack applications.
• Deep familiarity with AWS infrastructure; AWS Solutions Architect Certification preferred.
• Proficiency in backend (Python/FastAPI) and front-end frameworks (React).

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and deploy high-performing products from proof-of-concept through production in short, iterative cycles.
• Perform heavy cloud infrastructure design and execution using AWS to support high-throughput data-intensive systems.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities (LLMs, embeddings, multimodal models, agents) to address business challenges.
• Make AI systems production-reliable with evaluation harnesses, guardrails, and structured outputs.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and engineering teams across time zones.
• Lead architectural reviews and mentor junior engineers in patterns for AI-powered systems.
