Job summary

Pearson seeks a seasoned AI/ML leader to architect and scale production AI capabilities across learner intelligence, personalized learning, recommendations, and knowledge graphs. You will design Generative AI, LLM, and RAG solutions that drive measurable product impact and build scalable AI platform components.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product, design, learning science, and data science teams, and ensure reliable, observable, and cost-efficient AI systems in production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying production AI/ML systems.
• Strong experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI.
• Hands-on experience with foundation models and modern AI frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and APIs, testing, CI/CD, version control, and production operations.
• Experience designing scalable AI platforms in AWS or similar cloud environments.
• Experience with containerization, orchestration, IaC, and production-grade deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, deployment, and operation of production AI capabilities.
• Design and deliver Generative AI, LLM, RAG, and agentic AI solutions with business impact.
• Build reusable AI platform components and workflows across Pearson products.
• Own end-to-end AI delivery lifecycle from experiments to deployment and monitoring.
• Establish MLOps and AIOps practices for training, deployment, observability, governance.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Learning Science, and Data Science to deliver capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies while balancing quality, safety, and cost.
• Establish best practices for responsible AI, evaluation, prompt engineering, governance.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists to elevate AI engineering capabilities.
• Communicate strategy and trade-offs to stakeholders.
