Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Senior AI Engineer in New York, onsite, to advance AI/ML initiatives and deploy AI-driven solutions across enterprise platforms. You will design, test, and scale AI systems including LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval workflows.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, architecture design, and collaboration with AI Business Partners and product teams to align technology with business goals. Strong Python, API, and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Python and API development skills.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems and LLMs such as GPT, Claude, or similar.
• Experience with AI tools like LangChain, Copilot, Codex, Claude Code, or Microsoft Copilot.
• Strong understanding of embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation patterns.
• Experience in prompt engineering, model evaluation, testing, and optimization.
• Experience designing and deploying AI-powered applications and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D on emerging AI/ML technologies and architectures.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI/LLM and Agentic AI applications for PoC and production-scale initiatives.
• Build and manage APIs, integrations, and AI-powered workflows across enterprise platforms.
• Evaluate, benchmark, and optimize large language models from OpenAI, Google, Claude, and others.
• Develop prompt engineering strategies to improve model performance and business outcomes.
• Design AI architectures using embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Collaborate on data prep, synthetic data generation, and experimentation plans.
• Validate AI model performance, safety, scalability, and production readiness.
• Deploy and manage AI solutions in AWS and GCP cloud environments.
• Evaluate third-party AI products for scalability and enterprise value.
• Stay updated on Generative AI and Agentic AI advancements and evangelize best practices.
