Job summary

Citi is seeking a senior software engineer specializing in Generative AI and Agentic AI to design and deploy AI-enabled solutions in a production environment. You will work across Python and Java stacks, collaborating with AI architects and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure systems.

The role focuses on architecting AI pipelines, optimizing LLMs, and expanding enterprise AI capabilities on cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• At least 6+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and 5+ years focused on Generative AI, Agentic AI, and full‑stack AI solutions.
• Strong expertise in Python and Java for enterprise-grade applications and AI workflows.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, cloud services, CI/CD, and DevOps practices, with focus on security and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of sophisticated AI/ML and generative AI solutions across engineering teams.
• Architect end-to-end AI systems using Python and Java, ensuring scalable, production-ready backend services.
• Develop and optimize LLMs, perform prompt engineering, and build robust Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Own deployment pipelines with Docker/Kubernetes on AWS/Azure/GCP, ensuring secure, scalable releases.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices, observability, and cost efficiency.
