Qualifications

• 5–7 years IT experience with EA and SA.
• Experience leading AI implementations involving Generative AI, RPA, and Virtual Assistants.
• EA governance for cloud modernization initiatives.
• Solution architecture with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
• Experience with AI and RPA technologies such as UiPath.
• Exposure to multiple technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
• Develop technology strategies, roadmaps, business capability models, and customer journey maps.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and consulting skills.
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies, conduct PoC initiatives, and recommend architectural solutions.

Position Overview

The State of Ohio’s Department of Job and Family Services (JFS) is seeking a Senior AI Architect to support enterprise architecture, technology modernization, and cloud strategy initiatives. The role will work closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and IT teams to develop technology strategies, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide architectural decisions.

Key focus areas include Generative AI, AI/ML, Virtual Assistants, Conversational UI, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and cloud modernization across Family Assistance, Unemployment Compensation, Workforce Development, and other business units.

Required Skills

• 5–7 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years in Enterprise Architecture and 2 years in Solution Architecture
• Experience leading AI implementations involving Generative AI, RPA, and Virtual Assistants
• Experience providing Enterprise Architecture (EA) governance for cloud modernization initiatives
• Solution architecture experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and/or Microsoft Azure
• Experience with AI and RPA technologies, such as UiPath
• Exposure to multiple technologies, platforms, and processing environments
• Experience developing technology strategies, roadmaps, business capability models, and customer journey maps
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and consulting skills
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies, conduct proof-of-concept initiatives, and recommend architectural solutions

Preferred Skills

• TOGAF Certification
• Enterprise Architecture experience using Avolution ABACUS
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
• Experience with enterprise architecture governance, business architecture, information architecture, application portfolios, and technical architecture

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead proof-of-concept initiatives using emerging technologies.

• Develop business capability models, customer journey maps, and enterprise architecture artifacts.
• Support cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with business units and IT teams to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
• Facilitate cross-business-unit solutions and communicate architecture recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions on technology strategies and emerging technologies.
• Support project reporting, including status, risks, issues, and benefits.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent extensive related project experience.
• TOGAF Certification preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
